Just cars back then, classics now. Alfa Romeo Montreal and GTV. BMW 2002 Touring, 316. Citroën DS, 2CV, Dyane and XM Estate. Daimler 250. Fiat 1500 Ghia and the 600. Jaguar E-type S1 and S3, Mark 2 and obviously the Mark 1, XJC, XJ series 3, XK150 Fhc Mercedes 220S, 230SL, 260E. MG B and BGT. Mini Cooper. Morris Minor Traveller and Convertible. Porsche 356 and 911. Renault 4, 5, 25, Dauphine. Saab 900, 96, 9-3 cabrio. VW Beetle. Volvo 740 Estate. To name a few. What a fantastic lineup! It’s clear I have a real appreciation for classic cars and a diverse range of favorites. Each of these cars has its unique quirks and beauty, representing different eras and styles of automotive design and engineering. The Alfa Romeo Montreal and GTV capture that bold Italian flair, while the Citroën DS and 2CV have a charm that only the French could create—quirky yet elegant in their simplicity. Then there’s the Jaguar E-type, often hailed as one of the most beautiful cars ever made, and the reliable yet stylish Volvo 740 Estate, a classic in its own right for those who love sturdy Swedish design. The fact that I have picked up so many Range Rovers, Morris Minors, and Jaguar XJCs for clients speaks to how timeless and beloved they are. And those DSs—nothing else rides quite like them, with their hydropneumatic suspension and unique shape. It’s easy to see why I would say I love them all. Each one of these classics offers its own experience behind the wheel, its own history, and its own lasting impression. They’re more than cars; they’re icons, and I am proud I am a part of keeping their legacy alive.
