This Bristol 405 Saloon is being sold as a project for restoration, without an engine or gearbox. It was formerly part of rock legend Sir Brian May's “A Lifetime of Bristols” collection which was auctioned in 2023, but the car's restoration was never pursued.

It is accompanied by a copy of the hand-written factory log and type-written despatch notice showing that this Bristol, number 405/1/311, was originally bought by a John Alcock Esq. from Biddulph, Stoke-on-Trent on 7th June 1967. The bodywork and wheels were finished in Ash Grey and the interior received Egyptian Brown upholstery. Equipment included overdrive, heater, windscreen washer, map reading light, HMV radio, plus fog and spot lamps. It was originally powered by engine number 100B2/4281.

The current V5C is present, along with a brass plaque reading "Supplied by Anthony Crook" (the racing driver turned Bristol dealer who would later become owner of Bristol Cars).

Although we can offer no guarantee, the vendor describes the condition of the panels and chassis as “very good”. The car is sold with no reserve.
